Computer Checklist

Although many of you will be taking this course in a controlled lab environment you may also want to access it from your home computer. The following is a list of computer hardware and software recommendations you will need to successfully run this program.

Browser and Plug-in Test

Check to see if your computer is loaded with the correct browser software and plug-ins to properly view the Critical Choices course content. Begin the test

PC Platform:

• Operating System: Windows 98 (Second Edition), Windows 2000, or Windows XP
• Processor: 500 megahertz (MHz) or faster
• RAM: 128 MB or greater
• Free Hard Disk Space: 100 MB required, 300 MB recommended
• Modem Speed: 56.6 kbps modem or faster
• Audio: 16 bit Sound Card and Speakers or Headphones
• Video: Display card (minimum 65,000-color)
• Monitor: Set to 800 x 600 resolution or better
• Software: Internet Explorer 5.5 SP1
• Windows Media Player (free version available), Acrobat Reader, Flash Plugin (6.79 or better)

Platform: Macintosh

• Operating System: OS X version 10.1.5 or greater
• Processor: 450 megahertz (MHz) PowerPC G3 processor or higher
• RAM: 128 MB or better
• Free Hard Disk Space: 10 MB
• Modem Speed: 56.6 kbps or greater
• Monitor: Set to 800 x 600 resolution or better
• Software: Internet Explorer 5.1, Netscape 7.1, MSN for Mac OS X version 2.0, or Apple Safari 1.0
• Windows Media Player 9 for Mac OS X (free version available), Acrobat Reader, Flash Plugin (6.79 or better)
